Dynaplan has accepted and displayed four digit year formats since release 4.0, originally released in 1990. So, we do not anticipate that the Millennium change will result in any processing problems or loss of customer data. However, until MVS/SP 5.2.2, and VM/ESA 2.20, both released by IBM in the 1996 timeframe, the mainframe operating systems themselves were not Year 2000 compliant. To accommodate these operating system changes, Dynasoft modified it's Dynaplan program in release 4.3, to become fully Year 2000 compliant.

Within the spreadsheet itself, all dates are stored as a date serial number, defined as the number of days since January 1, 1990. This scheme will support dates through the year 2199. The display of these date values is controlled by the cell format in effect - DA0, DA1, through DA5. Some of these formats use a two digit format for the year, some use four. In release 4.3 of Dynaplan, the default display formatting is changed so that the DA1, DA3, and DA4 date formats always display a four digit year. For compatibility, this default can be overridden by the command /SET Y4DIGIT N.

One additional, and minor, area of change with release 4.3 is in the format of the /LIST command output. With this release, all year values are expressed in four digits in the /LIST display.

We hope that these changes will meet the needs of all the loyal Dynaplan users throughout the lifetime of their applications.
